Library Card Application
Who can get a library card from South Whitley Community Public Library?

Residents of South Whitley, Larwill, Cleveland and Richland Townships in Whitley County are eligible for a SWCPL card. A variety of different cards and account types are available based on where you live.  To apply for a library card, you will need to provide proof of residency as well as a completed application.  Acceptable proofs of residency would be:

Adults
Driver’s License or Photo ID with correct address.
Driver’s License or Photo ID with postmarked piece of mail addressed to potential patron.
Driver’s License or Photo ID with property tax receipt.

Minors (age 17 years or younger)
Residency is based on the residency of their parent(s)/guardian(s). They must provide proof of residency as listed above.

Emanicipated Individuals (aged 17 years or younger)
Residency is established the same as for adults.
You can download an application form or pick one up at South Whitley Community Public Library.

Green Card/Residents – Residents of South Whitley, Larwill, Cleveland and Richland Townships in Whitley County, Indiana are eligible for a free account. First-time cards are free. Replacements for lost cards cost $2. A resident, full access account allows    you to borrow materials from the South Whitley Community Public Library as well as all libraries that are part of the Evergreen  Indiana consortium. Individuals with resident accounts may also borrow downloadable books from the eIndiana Digital Consortium, powered by Overdrive. Accounts must be renewed every two years at no charge.

Green Card/Non-Resident – Individuals residing in an area of Indiana not served by a library may apply for this type of              account. The annual application fee is $100. Individuals with a South Whitley Community Public Library non-resident card have the same borrowing privileges as residents,  including access to all of Evergreen Indiana and the eIndiana Digital Consortium.  Non-resident accounts must be renewed annually at the non-resident rate. First-time cards are free. Replacements for lost cards cost $2.      

​Green Card/Public Library Access Card – Individuals using a PLAC card must  have a library card from their home library.  A home  library is defined as the library that serves your taxing district. PLAC borrowers have full access to all of       
Evergreen Indiana and the eIndiana Digital Consortium.  PLAC accounts must be renewed annually with the purchase of a 
PLAC at the current price.  First-time cards are free. Replacements for lost or stolen cards are $ 2. 

Blue Card/Student Account – Students and employees of the Whitko Community School Corporation that do not qualify              for a resident card may apply for a student card. Student borrowers have access to the physical holdings of SWCPL and may        borrow digital holdings from the eIndiana Digital Consortium. They may not borrow from any other Evergreen library. Student accounts must be renewed every two years at no charge. First-time cards are free. Replacements for lost cards cost $2.
